Amandine, a first year PhD student, applies Synthetic Biology tools to study bacteria genetics in our gut. This means that her average day consists of engineering organisms to have new abilities - is this Science or Fiction !? She compares the process of redesigning bacteria to perform new tricks to that of programming a computer (although neither sound easy…)! Amandine is passionate about a career in science because she greatly enjoys sparking interest and curiosity among others.
