Mara, a former PhD student at Institut Pasteur, now works on Science Communications in a contract research organization. Mara thinks that the best thing about being a scientist is to experience the excitement of understanding everyday things at a deeper level. In fact, her fascination about biology and microbes stemmed from reading science popularization books. Now, Mara is doing her part so that other people can also discover the beauty and importance of science. Mara’s favorite book is Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows by Melanie Joy.
