A PhD candidate in microbial ecology studying the animal intestinal archaeome at the Institut Pasteur. Courtney loves pizza and thinks that the coolest thing about being a scientist is knowing how microbes positively impact our lives every day. She is a molecular microbial ecologist and works with substances that are quite dangerous for our skin, so you’ll never meet her around the lab without her gloves. In her research, Courtney is inspired by Rachel Carson, an amazing researcher and science writer whose work changed pesticide policy in the US. She dreams of finding the best way to communicate science to non-scientists, if you wanna know if she succeeded, read her article for Piplettes!
