PhD candidate in the Biology of Spirochetes Unit, Department of Microbiology, Institut Pasteur. Samuel’s passion for science is fuelled by an interest in discovering things that no one knew of before, a role he claims could never be boring. With his trustee petri-dishes by his side, Samuel’s goal for his career in science would be to one day discover something that could really help someone. His favorite scientist is, of course, Louis Pasteur whom he considers as someone who “not only excelled in science but also had a fascinating critical thinking about society”. When Samuel is not running around organizing the enormous amount of samples stored in his freezer (more than 500!), he can be found hiking or playing the trumpet. His favorite book is Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, and his favorite film is The Lord of the Rings.
